Takane No Hana Volume 10 Prologue

Prologue

Kiou Academy Student Council Election.

The student council at this academy, where the children of politicians and business tycoons gather, carries responsibilities far beyond those of a typical school. After all, every item purchased is either exorbitantly priced or difficult to obtain, demanding the ability to handle them with precision. The student council also invites guests for each event, requiring an extensive network of connections. Given that the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry attended this year’s Management Game, it’s easy to infer the remarkable capabilities of the previous officers.

The students showed keen interest in the election campaign. At Kiou Academy, every student lives with a serious eye toward their future. That’s precisely why they want to entrust the student council to someone reliable. The student council here isn’t just any role—it’s not enough to be a behind-the-scenes supporter. It must be a charismatic organization that leads the students with charm and authority.

And so, we participated in the election for those student council positions.

There were three candidates for president: Tennouji Mirei, Miyakojima Narika,

and—Joutou Ren.

Joutou’s campaign promise was a bold one: the democratization of Kiou Academy. This audacity stood in contrast to Tennouji-san’s camp, and the student council election came to be seen as a battle between reformers and conservatives.

Honestly, this framing felt a bit lonely. We, too, were advocating for reforms to the existing academy structure, yet we were still labeled as conservatives.

But there was no helping it. Joutou’s promises were radical enough to fundamentally transform the current state of Kiou Academy.

That’s why our camp and Joutou’s could never see eye to eye, and we clashed head-on.

When I thwarted the negative campaign Rintarou had been secretly orchestrating and resolved the troubles plaguing Asahi-san, the root of conflict, I felt a sense of accomplishment.

Tennouji-san and Narika’s approval ratings weren’t bad either. I held a faint hope that, if things continued this way, one of them might be elected president.

That is—until this moment.

“From here on out—I’ll take the lead.”

The moment I realized Joutou Ren was getting serious, it hit me.

Everything up to now had merely been a prelude.

From this point forward—the real student council election begins.
