Afterword
Hello, Hitsuji Taro here.
This time, the seventh volume of Akashic Records of the Bastard Magic Instructor has finally been published.
I offer infinite gratitude to the editors, publishing staff, and all the readers who have supported Rokudenashi. Thank you so much!
Here we are at the seventh volume. The story has finally moved from the early stages, where the stage and mysteries were presented to the readers, into the middle phase, where the plot builds upon that foundation.
This volume focuses on the members of the Imperial Court Mage Corps’ Special Missions Annex, where Glenn《The Fool》 once belonged, through the lens of the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy’s social ball.
Not only do we have Albert《The Star》 and Re=L《The Chariot》, but also Bernard《The Hermit》 and Christoph《The Hierophant》, who have appeared sporadically in previous volumes. This time, a new character, Eve《The Magician》, makes her debut. When depicting the members of the Special Missions Annex, I took care to portray them as people living in the underbelly of society, with sensibilities distinct from ordinary folk—in other words, each has a bit of a screw loose in their own way. Thanks to that, I think they turned out to be quite a colorful bunch. While Sistine, Rumia, and the academy students shine brilliantly on the glamorous stage of the social ball, the covert battles of the Special Missions Annex members unfold in the shadows. If you can savor their struggles, it would be the greatest honor for me as an author. I hope you enjoy it…
“So, like, this seventh volume was just an excuse to write that scene with Glenn and Albert, wasn’t it?” (Friend’s comment)
…Mind your own business.
“No, but seriously, Taro… If you’re gonna introduce a new girl like Eve-chan, shouldn’t you, y’know, do more with her…?”
Shut the heck uppppppppppppppp──!?
Rokudenashi is (probably) fine as it isssssssssssss──!?
The new character, Eve《The Magician》. As one of the strongest figures in the story, her grand debut comes with a bit of misfortune… namely, that she debuted in the same volume where Albert gets to steal the spotlight.
