Akashic Records of the Bastard Magical Instructor Volume 19 Interlude 2

Interlude: The Magician of Melgalius II

To dream—

It is a tale from a distant past, a story from long, long ago.

The story of a certain magician.

————

A hundred years.

A hundred years have passed since Sora made a pact with《The Celestial Taum》.

A hundred years is far too long.

By now, there was no one left who remembered her.

Yet—her flames of hatred and rage showed no signs of ever burning out, even after a century.

And a hundred years of relentless training had forged Sora into the mightiest magician.

Sora’s battle began. A grand journey, waging war across the world, commenced.

A fierce struggle, fueled by a century’s worth of accumulated resentment, erupted.

In an instant, those flames spread across the world, consuming everything in their path.

It was not a fight to save the oppressed masses, who knew nothing but submission to the Demon King and his magicians.

It was purely a battle for vengeance.

Sora despised the Demon King. She loathed those who sided with him. She hated this world.

Thus, she fought, destroyed, and ravaged—

It would not be an exaggeration to call it a venting of a century’s worth of pent-up frustration.

Yet—even if it was a brutal, catastrophic battle driven by primal impulses,

When Sora first brought down one of the Demon King’s fortresses—the era shifted.

Humans were the Demon King’s livestock. His fodder.

Humans were tools to magicians. Toys. Sacrifices.

That common sense, that structure, crumbled for the first time in a millennium.

The notion that those without magic were not human—a truth accepted by both the rulers and the ruled—wavered for the first time.

Without a doubt, it was Sora’s will, her defiance thrust against a warped world—

But.

The time during which humans were oppressed as less than beasts was—far too long, far too prolonged.

And for people to raise Sora as a beacon of hope, her power was far too overwhelming.

Indeed, to many, Sora and the Demon King were one and the same.

Sora, too, fought only out of her seething hatred and rage.

Never once had she fought to protect the people.

A century had erased all traces of Sora’s origins from the memories of the people.

The world had washed away every vestige of her existence.

She was alone.

Without friends, without family.

Utterly alone in a world where no one knew her.

By now, the term “outsider” referred solely to her.

Thus, no one could understand Sora—and in fear, the people cried out in unison:

They called Sora “The New Demon King.”

They called her “The Second Demon King.”

They called her “The Demon King’s Successor.”

Unjust slander and defamation assailed Sora, and everyone feared her.

No matter how many people Sora freed from slavery through her battles, it made no difference.

All that was directed at Sora was nothing but fear and revulsion.

Not a single soul saw her as “justice.”

To the people, Sora was no different from the Demon King—just another beast in the same den.

But.

Even so.

Sora would not stop.

She continued to fight the Demon King’s forces.

Driven by that burning impulse.

She relentlessly killed the ruling magicians who sided with the Demon King, one after another.

Building mountains of corpses and rivers of blood.

“That is why I, Sora, am who I am.”

And so.

Sora continues to fight, even today.

Her mission today is the complete annihilation and scorching of the vile Yoth Kingdom, which, under the Demon King’s command, actively engages in slave hunting across neighboring nations with its entire populace.

And to eliminate Varu Vhol, the Demon General Star—《The Thunder God General》—who pulls the strings of the Yoth Kingdom from behind—

She will not stop.

Not until everything is burned to ashes.

What salvation could there possibly be for someone like her?

………….
