Liar Liar Volume 1 Afterword

Afterword

Hello, or good evening. This is Haruki Kyoui.

Thank you so much for picking up Liar Liar: The Cheating Transfer Student Seems to Be Dominating the Game with Tricks and Lies

So, what did you think…? This is my second series, and I packed it with everything I love: “games × lies × school × romantic comedy!” Whether you’ve been reading since my previous work, Cross Connect, or this is your first time picking up one of my books, I’d be overjoyed if you enjoyed it.

To be honest, this work originated from a novel I wrote during my submission days, heavily revised (and I mean heavily). Back then, I abandoned it halfway, but I really liked the setting, so being able to complete it now feels quietly rewarding. I did it!

That said, I can’t help but wonder why, out of all the unfinished ideas I had, I chose another game-centric story like my last one… It’s a complete mystery to me (as if it’s someone else’s problem). If I’d thrown in a super sweet, sour youth romance epic here, it might’ve improved my image (though I’ve never written anything like that).

Anyway, jokes aside, Liar Liar includes plenty of school romantic comedy elements, so I hope you enjoyed that aspect as well.

Now, for the acknowledgments.

First, to Konomi-sensei, who once again brought this story to life with their absolutely stunning illustrations. The cover, the color pages, the in-text drawings—everything was the best of the best. I feel like the luckiest person alive to get to enjoy konomi sensei’s art first. I’m grinning about it all the time.

To my editor, and to everyone at MF Bunko J, thank you so much for your support with this work as well. Entering my second year and second series, I’m more determined than ever to give it my all. First, I need to shake off this newbie feeling…

And finally, to all the readers who picked up this book, my deepest gratitude.

Please continue to support Liar Liar!!
