This time, the seventeenth volume of Akashic Records of the Bastard Magic Instructor has finally been published.

I offer my infinite gratitude to the editors, everyone involved in publishing, and to all the readers who have supported Bastard Magic Instructor.

Now, volume seventeen. It feels like we’ve finally reached this point… That’s the sentiment. The various foreshadowing threads I’ve woven so far are starting to be resolved one by one, and I can keenly feel the story converging toward its conclusion.

This volume particularly shines the spotlight on Eve once again. In this seventeenth volume, one of the core stories flowing through Eve’s character comes to a close… That’s how it turned out.

I take pride in believing this volume serves as a fitting culmination for her story. Her noble decision this time will undoubtedly have a profound impact on Glenn moving forward.

But… writing this volume was tough!

It’s like, the entire volume was just relentlessly harsh on Eve-chan, and when you combine it with Memory Records volume 6, poor Eve-chan got absolutely pummeled in every sense. Poor Eve-chan.

Why…? Why do I keep tormenting Eve-chan like this!?

Who’s to blame for this!? Yep, it’s me! Sorry!

No, but hear me out… Don’t you ever get that feeling where the cuter or more beloved a character is, the more you want to put them through the wringer?

So, the reason I keep throwing Eve-chan into these brutal situations isn’t because I dislike her! It’s because of love! Love!

Well, let’s just set aside this sheep’s twisted tendencies for now.

Bastard Magic Instructor will continue on, and I’ll keep writing with full commitment, no slacking off.
