Afterword
Dear Readers,
Perhaps in the height of summer, how is everyone faring?
As for me, I’m currently suffering greatly from pollen.
This text is being delivered to you from me in spring. The so-called season of spring warmth. Generally, I write the main story, then the afterword, and with various preparations before release, there’s a bit of a time lag, you see.
And right now, the pollen is truly at its peak.
The news about cedar pollen being over caught my eye, and I rejoiced for a fleeting moment, but with no time to rest, cypress pollen started scattering, and today my face is in tatters. I can’t stop sneezing…
Ever since I was young, my allergic constitution has shocked the doctors who ran my blood tests. Cedar, cypress, rice plants, ragweed—I’ve got the full set of pollen allergies covered, of course, but I also perfectly check off mites and house dust. To top it all off, rice and wheat showed a faint positive reaction at Class 1.
When I asked the doctor in despair, “If I can’t eat rice or bread, what am I supposed to eat?” their immediate reply, “Why not eat cornflakes?” is a fond memory. (Since it’s a Class 1 pseudo-positive, I’m eating rice normally for now.)
So, to get back on track, every year around this time, I’m terribly tormented by these invisible powders.
I said invisible, but I can tell they’re flying around from the itch in my nose, and when they get in my eyes, I know from the irritation. I’ve become a complete pollen radar.
Seriously, if anyone knows a good countermeasure, please tell me…
That said, I’ve been dealing with pollen for a long time, so I’ve tried most countermeasures already.
I’ve visited the hospital and gotten medication, and I’m also taking the herbal remedy Shoseiryuto. I never take off my mask, I always brush off my clothes to avoid bringing pollen into the house, and I clean thoroughly to keep the pollen in my room as close to zero as possible…
But even so, I still end up reacting. Why!? I’m sure my comrades with severe hay fever understand this feeling. Truly, in the face of those things, all resistance feels futile, doesn’t it?
I’ve been recommended laser surgery to burn the nasal mucosa, but I’ve heard rumors that the recovery is worse than hay fever itself, so no way… If anyone knows a secret trick to try besides that, please contact me. For next spring, to face the pollen head-on, I beg you, please…
Acknowledgments.
To Tadano Yukiko. Thank you so much this time as well. It’s no exaggeration to say I wrote the second volume just to see the heroines drawn by Yukiko-sama. After finishing the manuscript, every day was filled with excitement waiting for the illustrations. Thank you.
To Editor S-sama. As always, I’m deeply indebted to you. Thank you for your tremendous support this time as well. Somehow, we managed to complete it. Thank you.
To my readers. The pajama-clad beautiful girl (abridged), thank you so much for picking up the second volume. What kind of pajamas do you like on girls? Please let me know so I can have someone wear them in the story.
I pray we can meet again in another afterword.
